When cleaning machines, if ever, does anyone stop by the car wash to clean their machines or use pressure washers? Not necessarily for cleaning paint but dirt and grime that builds up after continue usage.. I'm assuming if I wanted to clean overspray I would use thinner or xylene or something as hot.....Thanks for any input.

Pressure washers don't even begin to make a dent in the layers of paint on my machines. Good thing I run Speeflos. When I have the time to try to remove paint (almost never), I use a hammer. Pressure washers probably wouldn't be good for machines with electronic clutches.
mine is quite clean, and i do my best to keep that way (mostly by just not being messy and cautious and when i do have a spill or so i will clean up "then" and take 10 mins of my day to do so) as much as a average airless cost....i just cant see letting them get too messy....i know i am proably not the norm, but thats just the way i am...and i just like to keep my stuff neat
I use a hot water pressure washer with a turbo nozzle to keep mine pretty clean. With the newer Graco's (3900 III/IV) you have to be careful not to shred any of the wiring. Never had any problems with the electronics, but then I don't point the pressure washer at the pressure control. Also the newer 3900's have a powder coated frame, which doesn't hold up to a pressure washer as well as the old 3500 zinc coated frames. In between pressure washings we use Purple "Stuff/Power/Buster" to clean off lite accumulations of dirt and paint "dust". Just spray it on and rinse it off. We keep a pump sprayer of it to clean blowers, wheels, engines, etc. Keeps the machines pretty clean, and keeping the engine cooling fins free of paint and dirt helps the engines run cooler and last longer. Psyche-out Tip #34: Clean machines tell your competition and clients you are doing well enough to at least LOOK like you can buy new machines, and that your employees are trained to take care of their equipment. Discouraging for competition, encouraging for clients.
