This is what I have found out We use to use masons string to block off the jobs and we would break off caution tape and put it up every 3 or 4 feet. We did this because using caution tape is fine but when you are trying to block off 25,000 feet at a time you can kinda roll through some 1000' caution. But one night we ran out of the mansons string and we had to have something right then and there. I looked in back of the tool box and found some fishing line and we have never looked back. You can get fishing line by the 100's of yards really cheap. So it is a way to save money compared to the costly masons string and putting up rolls of caution tape. Hope it helps and saves you alittle but of money. -Dean

yep, I learned this money saving tip last fall. Also, I think I am going to try some sort of contracption to make attaching the caution tape to the line a bit more efficient. I think that using clothspins to attach the caution tape to the fishing line may make it a bit quicker/easier to work with. You would eliminate having to tie the tape, and I think it would make the tape reusable again. I will let you know if it worlks.

We reuse it all the time. The easyest way we found to save it is to wind it up on the extention cord reals. If you have real long ones it may take a couple. You just crank it in to put away, and tie it on and walk to reuse. this is using the nylon twine. I only have to replace some flagging tape when it gets dropped on the sealer or pulled off etc.

If you use fishing line, or any small line for that matter, be sure you have flags tied on at 2-3ft. intervals. Don't want anyone getting "clotheslined" because they didn't notice it. Never underestimate the stupidity of the general public.

BandE , Its because there is a blood sucking attorney standing there telling them they can make millions. Our society has become so litigious. Nothing is "my" fault anymore ... so if it's not my fault ... there must be someone to pay me because it was their fault regardless of my own stupidity or mistakes. I can remember as a kid that my worst fear, if I got in trouble at school (paddled), was that if my parents found out, I was going to get it again. Today, if anyone looks cross at our children in school, we are ready to sue. Then we wonder why juveniles have no respect for other property or life and this segment of crime continues to rise with our prisons filling up with these "little darlings. Sorry, just felt the need to rant this am.

Go to the farm store and buy some bale twine, last long time and lots cheaper. Then tie your streamers off that.

First RandyV made a tool for painting the rounded ends of double stripes. Then JPanz improved on it, and has a video of his cool tool. Visit the Home Page of PLP and go to the Helpfull Hints section for that and other great ideas. Here's a link to the page: radius tools
