Parking lot striping is a multi-billion-dollar segment of the pavement maintenance industry. It involves federal ADA compliance requirements, slip-and-fall liability, and work that lasts years before anyone touches it again. Until 2026, the industry had no professional standards body, no published quality benchmark, and no recognized credential for the people doing the work.
There is no widely accepted definition of what quality striping means. No certification that tells a property manager what a contractor actually knows. No organization that represents the professionals who paint the lines.
PLSIC was founded to fill that gap: the first professional standards body for parking lot striping, building technical standards, professional certifications, and training curricula from the ground up.
"An industry this large, this regulated, this consequential deserves a professional standards body. It did not have one. Now it does."
PLSIC serves three groups, and the relationship between them is what makes the organization work.
Striping contractors gain a recognized credential, access to training and continuing education, directory placement that connects them with property managers, and a professional community built around the work they actually do.
Property managers and facility owners get a free tool: a searchable directory of CPLS-certified contractors, published standards they can reference in bid specs and maintenance contracts, and a credential they can verify before they sign a check.
Manufacturers and suppliers participate directly in standards development alongside the contractors who specify and purchase their products. They gain access to the contractor network, licensing opportunities for training content, and the credibility that comes with being part of the industry's first professional body.
PLSIC is enrolling founding members now, and this window is limited.
Contractors, manufacturers, and industry professionals who join before September 15, 2026 receive governance rights in the organization, early access to the CPLS certification program, a permanent Founding Member designation that never expires, and pricing locked in for the duration of their commitment.
The people who join now do not just get membership. They help determine what PLSIC becomes.
